About this tournament setup

Your Mixed Mexicano tournament — 10 players, 2 courts — unfolds across 6 rounds of 2 simultaneous matches each. That is 12 matches total. With 2 players resting per round, everyone still sees substantial court time. Plan for about 90 minutes from start to final standings.

Ten players hit the sweet spot between variety and manageability. The rotation produces enough partnership combinations to keep every round feeling fresh without overwhelming the schedule.

With 5 per gender on 2 courts, Mixed Mexicano's dual-ranking pairing creates 6 rounds of gender-balanced, performance-matched competition. The algorithm zips the separate male and female rankings to form each round's pairs — ensuring the top male always plays with the top female, and so on down the list. 2 players rotate off each round, split evenly by gender. After 6 rounds and 12 matches, the unified standings determine a single champion.

This 10-player, 2-court setup achieves 80% court utilization — only 2 players rest per round. Two courts deliver the quintessential padel social format. Matches run in parallel, keeping downtime minimal while maintaining an intimate atmosphere where players can follow both games. At about 90 minutes, it is a well-paced event with minimal downtime between matches.

When organizing a 10-player Mixed event, confirm equal gender numbers before generating. If you have 6 of one gender and 4 of the other, the generator handles the imbalance through bye rounds — but the experience is smoother with an even split. Recruit one more player from the underrepresented group if possible.

Tips for this setup

  • Confirm equal gender numbers (5 each) before starting. Odd splits create bye rounds.
